Tenner Tycoon is a nationwide competition to promote enterprise in schools. Run by Enterprise UK and fronted by Peter Jones, it’s an annual competition where tens of thousands of school children across the UK are loaned a ten pound note for a month and challenged to make money, make a difference and give back.

The competition runs from 1st March – 31st March and offers up to 40,000 young people under the age of 19 to make money, make a difference and give back. The money in the Tenner Bank has been generously funded by Peter Jones, Big Lottery Fund and Michael and Xochi Birch, founders of social networking site Bebo.

Once the challenge is over, participants are asked to return their original loan and keep or donate the profit they made.

Awards are offered to the student/students who have the biggest profit, deliver the most social impact or the best business idea.

Last year the most amount of profit made from a single ten pound note was an impressive £920!
