Inspired by Coleridge and the Wordsworths, students have been exploring the intricate ecosystems and expansive views of the Quantock Hills through the eyes of poets and artists to better understand landscape change and connect with the natural environment. A selection of their beautiful work will be on show at Hestercombe Gallery from the 20th July 2024 to the 23rd February, 2025, as part of ‘What Stories Make Worlds’, an exhibition focusing on our relationship with landscape and the environment at a time of change.
As part of this exhibition, Feral Practise features their short film 'The Word for Forest is Home', which was produced in collaboration with students from Pyrland School. The exhibition also showcases a curated selection of sketchbook work, produced by pupils from various schools over the whole duration of the project.
You can also take a peak behind the scenes and view our digital gallery, where we document the project over the whole 4 years. View here.
‘In the Footsteps of the Romantic Poets’ was produced by SPAEDA, on behalf of the Quantock Hills National Landscape and the Quantock Landscape Partnership Scheme with funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
